About the Park

Fernview is a small 11 site group area perched on a bench above the South Santiam River. The Rooster Rock Trail is across the highway from the group site and numerous other trails and lakes are in within a short drive. The Fernview Group Site is about 20 miles from Sweet Home on Highway 20 at an elevation of 1,360 feet.

Camping: May 6th, 2016 to September 25th, 2016

Campground Description: 1400-foot elevation. 11 campsites, including 2 tent-only sites above the South Santiam River.

The Rooster Rock trail, 2.1 miles, has a trailhead across the road from the campground. Rooster Rock, a stone pinnacle in the Menagerie Wilderness, is a favorite sport climbing destination, and is rated 5.4. Other area pinnacles are rated up to 5.9. The Old Santiam Wagon Road runs through the campground. Fishing on the S. Santiam above Foster is catch and release only, artificial flies and lures only. Fishing season is May 28th to October 31st.

$125 per night to reserve the whole park for your family reunion or group get togther.
