Linn County Parks & Recreation has an immediate need for cooks at Clear Lake Resort.

CLASSIFICATION TITLE OF THE JOB:  Cook LOCATION:  Clear Lake Resort, located in the Willamette National Forest CLASSIFICATION NUMBER: N/A CLASSIFICATION CATEGORY: Seasonal Temporary, Non-Benefited Position working up to 40 hours per week.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: 

  • Prepare all menu items, coffee and other food/beverage items as necessary.
  • Knowledge of food preparation; proper handling and safe storage techniques.
  • Ensure kitchen is cleaned, sanitized and orderly per department standards.
  • Ability to accurately perform basic cashier duties and use a Point of Sale System.
  • Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, lodge, and outdoor seating area.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with management, park rangers, co-workers and visitors.
  • Greeting guests, answering questions & providing information in a positive manner.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
  JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
  • Prior restaurant & customer service experience is preferred.
  • Must have, or be willing to obtain, a Food Handlers Card and First Aid/AED card.
  • Ability to operate and maintain basic kitchen equipment.
  • Must be able to operate Point of Sale System; make change and balance register.
  • Ability to learn and communicate effectively:  park rules, area information, and educate park visitors.
  • Ability to follow directions, manage multiple tasks to parks standards and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Perform janitorial services, including the use of chemicals.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Must be available to work Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
  • Position requires frequent standing, walking, squatting, bending, kneeling, twisting, and repetitive forward and overhead reaching.  Ability to lift/carry 50lbs. and push objects weighing up to 90 lbs; Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time.
  • Must be willing to live and work in a remote location.
  QUALIFICATIONS:  Must be a graduate from a senior high school or have your GED; possess a valid Oregon Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record and pass a criminal background check.
