Help Wanted......Clear Lake Resort Caretaker

  CLASSIFICATION TITLE OF THE JOB:  Caretaker LOCATION: Clear Lake Resort, Willamette National Forest, ORE -126/McKenzie Hwy CLASSIFICATION NUMBER: N/A CLASSIFICATION CATEGORY:  Temporary, 20 Hours per week occasionally more hours required.   Two person teams encouraged to apply (20 hours per person).   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

  • Live on site, year round.
  • Must provide excellent customer service to park patrons; must be able to assess and resolves complaints appropriately; must be friendly, conscientious and responsible.
  • Respond to after-hours guest issues; report issues with equipment or facilities during off-hours to ranger staff.
  • Starting and stopping generators at required hours; checking oil and fueling generators.
  • Cleaning of park grounds; maintain boat docks and boat launch area; clean fish station.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and sanitization of rowboats and kayaks.
  • Cleaning and stocking of cabins, restrooms & lodge; garbage removal.
  • Operating snow removal equipment; operating a bobcat and other county vehicles.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with management, park rangers, co-workers and visitors.
  • Operation of reservation system; Point of Sale system; basic cashier duties; conduct and maintain inventory of supplies.
  • Assist with any/all resort operations during peak times.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
  • Must be willing to live and work in a remote location.
  • Ability to learn and communicate effectively:  park rules, area information, and educate park visitors.
  • Ability to follow directions, manage multiple tasks to parks standards and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to operate a variety of hand tools, power tools, and small equipment & to learn about equipment servicing, diagnosing, and maintenance.
  • Ability to perform general maintenance to park buildings and facilities; perform janitorial services, including the use of chemicals.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions; ability to work Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
  • Position requires frequent standing, walking, squatting, bending, kneeling, twisting, and repetitive forward and overhead reaching.  Ability to lift/carry 50lbs. and push objects weighing up to 90 lbs; Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain a First Aid/AED Card and Food Handlers Card.
  • Maintain regular and predictable work attendance.
QUALIFICATIONS:  Must be a graduate from a senior high school or have your GED; possess a valid Oregon Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record and pass a criminal background check. Must be at least 18 years old at the time of hire.   SALARY, BENEFITS, COMPENSATION: This is a non-benefitted position; $16.00-$18.00 per hour DOE; furnished housing will be provided at no cost to you or RV site with your RV.  Position will be evaluated and renewed at 6-month increments.   CLOSING DATEAugust 18, 2023   HOW TO APPLY:  Submit a completed Linn County Employment Application to:  Adam Brenneman, Asst.
